We are offering four late 19th c. Dutch baby rattles (two with celluloid teething rings).  From the left is a facetted bell with a loop for a ribbon It is 2 3/8" long and weighs 22.1 grams.  It has two hallmarks: one I make to be the .833 Dutch purity mark and the other is probably the maker's mark (A.K.).  The second is a  rattle 2,25" x 1,75" x .75" (thick) with a celluloid teething ring.  This piece has a gross weight of 30.9 grams.  The rattle features a repousse scene (on both sides) of a child holding an umbrella over the head of a of sleeper in bed. It has a maker's mark and the purity mark 830 S (this piece might actually be Danish)  The third item is a plain silver bell (clapper is missing) with an attached teething ring.  It has tiny hallmarks that also indicate it is .833 silver.  It is 1 7/8" tall x 1.5" wide x 7/8" thick.  It has a gross weight of 30.9 grams.  The final rattle is shaped much like a pocket watch with a hinged ring for a ribbon.  It also has a tiny .833 purity mark and is engraved with the name Frederic.  It is 1.78" in diameter x .75" thick.  It weighs 24grams.  All the pieces together have a total weight of 100.7 grams.
