HERE WE HAVE
: A vintage set of Dairy Queen ice cream stand sign letters! This signage is in ten pieces, each letter being separate. Each letter is hand-cut wood that was painted blue.
I included a photo found online that features similar signage in the photos above (it's only there for reference and the photo is not included, nor are these the exact letters in that photo!).
We do have some history on the signage! The letters came off of a Dairy Queen restaurant located at 8 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. in Akron/Portage Lakes, Ohio! We acquired them from the original owner (a former employee) who has had them stored in his basement for years. Apparently, the DQ franchise store owner got in some sort of argument with corporate at the time and ended up closing the DQ franchise and opening his own "Freezy Freeze" in its place! (We speculate that corporate wanted him to update his old signage and he refused!).
These are likely from the 1950s from what information we have and by the looks of them. Each letter still has mounting screws attached.
CONDITION:
Acceptable, salvaged condition! These are pretty primitive. Paint loss all around. The two "E" letters don't match at the center, one has a longer middle line than the other, but it could be cut down to match. As noted above, there are mounting screws still attached that stick out the back. Please see photos!
MEASUREMENTS:
Each letter is approximately the same size at around 36" tall. They vary in width based on the letter. Each piece of wood is about 1/2" thick.

RETURNS:
