    Description

    This commemorative 50 centavos was issued by the Republic of the Philippines, shortly after it got their independence from the United States. The "Defender and Liberator" of the Philippines, General of the Army Douglas MacArthur, and his profile is on the obverse. The seal of the new Republic and the date & S mint mark are on the reverse. This coin was designed by Laura Gardin Frazier (her initials are below the bust) and it was struck at the San Francisco mint.
    It is 0.900 fine silver, weighs 10.0 grams, and contains 0.2411 ounces of silver.
    This coin is blast white in color with amazing luster.
