    Description

Presented is an excellent antique continental European silver demitasse pot or bachelor pot. This pot dates to circa 1750-1820. The pot is made in a classic balustroid form, with a round foot and finely carved C shaped handle. The silver is quite thick throughout, and the pot has a nice feeling of weight to it despite its small size. The pot has a capacity of about 6 fluid ounces, or 175 milliliters.
The underside of the pot is stamped with a Danish or Austrian three tower mark, but overstamped and somewhat obscured, as well as another mark which is likely a maker's mark, that looks like HPB. The top rim has a tiny French import mark indicating imported silver of foreign origin.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The horn finial of the lid has some loss to the edge due to insect damage. The handle is sound and tight to the body, but the pins attaching it have likely been professionally redone at some point, it is hard to say for sure. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no solder repairs.
The pot stands about 6 1/4 inches tall and measures about 4 3/4 inches from handle to spout,
This pot weighs 184 grams or 6.5 regular ounces.
