Antique Silver Cherub Box
Up for sale is an antique 800 Silver cherub decorated box that was made in the late 1800’s. The obverse of the box shows 3 cherubs at play with a circular border of flowers and scrolls. The sides are very detailed, and when you open the box, it reveals a beautiful gold wash almost like a mirror inside. The bottom of the box is plain but did have a label, and it fell off. This box closures perfectly.
Approximate sizes:
3 1/2 inches long,
2 3/4 inches wide,
3/8 inches high & weighs 123 grams (4.3 ounces)
There is a mark on the top of box; a lion and 800, which stands for the purity of silver.
Considering its age, this silver box looks to be in Great Overall Vintage Condition.
